Emotions & Memory @ Pitzhanger Gallery

A Year 3 schools workshop at Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery, delivered as part of the Idris Khan & Annie Morris Learning Programme. Students began with a guided tour of the exhibition, exploring themes of memory, love, loss, and colour as emotional language, before taking part in a hands-on large-scale drawing session. Through collaborative mark-making, layering, erasing, and re-drawing, pupils reflected on personal memories and emotions, inspired by the artists’ use of material, texture, and process to express complex feelings. The session encouraged emotional literacy, creative confidence, and empathy through artmaking.
