Young V&A: Hero Arm

A Key Stage 1 & 2 workshops at the Young V&A, inspiring students to explore creativity, empathy, and design thinking through the story of Open Bionics’ Hero Arm. Pupils examined the museum’s Hero Arm prosthetic, learning how art and design can celebrate individuality and support people with limb differences. Through hands-on activities, students designed their own inventions, imagining solutions to help people navigate challenges such as moving safely in the dark. The session supports Art & Design, Design & Technology, and Citizenship curriculum links while developing creative confidence and problem-solving skills.
