Sensory Architecture @ Specialist School

Part of the After School Architecture Club Learning Programme supported by the Alan Baxter Foundation, this project engaged Sixth Form students at John Chilton School (many with SEND and no previous experience of architecture) in hands-on, sensory-led explorations of space and materials. Over six weekly sessions, students investigated light, colour, texture, sound, and structure, creating artistic architectural models and installations inspired by their experiences. The club encouraged experimentation, autonomy, and creative thinking, fostering an understanding of architecture as both an artistic and human-centered practice while developing practical making skills.
