Take One Picture

As part of the National Gallery’s Take One Picture initiative, this project with Year 2 students from Moreland Primary School, delivered through Bow Arts, invited pupils to imagine and expand on stories inspired by a selected painting from the Gallery’s collection. Students began by exploring Victorian architecture, designing their own Victorian-style houses through detailed drawings before transforming shoeboxes into miniature 3D homes to contain their imagined narratives. The project combined storytelling, design, and modelmaking, encouraging creativity, historical curiosity, and a deeper connection between art and imagination.
